An Inca shaman meditating in Peru, the sacred mountain Apu Asangate in background, with eagle and condor in the sky. The prophecy is that when the condor and eagle fly together, a new stage of consciousness is heralded. The shaman has his chakras lit up, a hummingbird symbolizing his crown chakra. The small bundle is called a mesa and contains sacred stones and other objects for ceremony.
An angel with flaming wings flying to Earth, into incarnation… This fiery angel flying to our galaxy sees Venus in the distance and the Pleiades Cluster to the right. The gothic portal was part of my vision, honoring the sacred architecture of the ancient cathedrals.
Water of Life
If Jesus and Buddha and Quan Yin were to meet, they would find perfect accord together. It seems Quan Yin is always shown pouring water, or standing on waves or in a stream. It came to me that she should be pouring water for the two holy men, for East and West, in equal measures. Of necessity, they are placed in nature, not some marble temple. In the mists of history, there have been ancient cultures based on balance between the sexes, where the Goddess was honored in all life. We have been there, we have been expressions of that wisdom! That history lights the way to our future.
A painting showing at the base, our physical self, then the emotional body, leading to the mental being, and our splendid spirit/soul overlighting all. The bright nature of our true Self shines behind the scenes, but so often we are lost in our tight small reality.
I had this vision of Buddha rising slowly from a lotus pond, glistening with droplets in the early morning light. The lotus flower glows, giving a timeless teaching about rising from the mud to shine into life.
I have a fascination with ponds, and the edge where water meets solid earth. A lily pond with a waterfall is a bit of heaven on earth, a place to dwell. Above the boulder, the bamboo enfolds a shape for a sitting figure… a still presence. The original painting is 12 feet wide by 8 feet tall, mural sized.
A shaman, faery queen, mineral being, human, ascended master and angel bless our beautiful Earth… The native American holds indigenous earth wisdom. The Fairy Queen is of the Green Kingdom, all plant life. The Mineral King is the still, solid life under our feet. The Ascended Master represents all our perfected, evolved Selves. The Angel is all the invisible help and love we are blessed by.
Before the (violent) ali'is from Tahiti came and took over, Hawai'i's culture was matrifocal, peaceful and abundant. This is what our ancestors are calling us to reclaim - for all people. We need to be reminded of how we can all live together in peace and plenty. This painting of Pele aims to depict the power, beauty, grace and endless generosity of the Goddess.
An image that arose for me upon the birth of my daughter. A rose exhudes a mist of love that rises into a heart, folds over and shapes again to a heart that returns and continues the flow…
An angel hesitates, flying towards a heart-shaped opening, leading to incarnation on Earth. The Heavenly Realm has been her home, a place of Sacred Architecture and no horizon. The columns have seven turns, rising from base light, unevolved, into darkness at the center. Rising through that evolutionary passage, the light emerges triumphant at the peak, lighting the ancient design called the Flower of Life. The design across the top is from a 648 foot long crop circle, seen in Alton Barnes, England, in 1996.
Musing one day upon the act of creation, this image flashed to my mind’s eye. Dolphins surfing a beautiful cresting wave… perhaps our everyday inspirations are waves in the psyche, beckoning us to play and create! The magenta sky places us clearly in the imaginarium.
There is a place called Findhorn, with a profound and exciting story for all people of spirit. Many books have been written about the magic that arose there, that continues in the hearts and actions of all who are touched by the messages. This painting of an angel in blissful union with an iris blossom expresses some of my wonder at the mysteries revealed…
Much is written in alternative literature about Jesus, about his Lost Years. I believe He went on a pilgrimage to sit at the feet of other Masters, to learn the Mysteries first hand. Tibet is a sacred vortex on our planet, and Mount Kailash, in the background, a most sacred mountain. As you are on a Path of inner discovery, this image can hold focus for your own practice.
Dolphins riding the crest, surfing a wave of light and joy… Sleek beings of mystery and perfect expression, they have lit up my soul many times, swimming in Hawaii. Perhaps you too have felt that champagne fizz, seeing them up close, hearing their clicks and whistles?
An image arising from the realms of psyche, while meditating. A lotus flower, a galaxy of stars, this early painting is mainly done with airbrush, a tool I found perfect for the astral inspirations I was seeing in those days.
At a sacred hot springs a few years ago, profoundly relaxed, this image burned for a moment to my inner vision. The feeling was of blue melancholy, a lonely mermaid… She’s a bit different though, not demure and posing for our gaze. No, this mermaid is athletic, her strong back rippling with muscle… her lower half is not scaled and fish-like, she is part dolphin, and when she swims, nothing can keep up with her.
Mt Shasta Ascension
One of my favorite places to commune with the mysteries of Nature is Mount Shasta, CA. This sacred mountain is a magnetic vortex, pulling pilgrims from all over the world. The feather in front of the mountain is to show the soul’s evolution into Light. The interlocking structures of the feather are a symbol of the many lifetimes we go through, on our journey towards ascension.
Two dolphins in a spiral of love, the DNA spiral of Light that, for me, symbolizes a true union. Together, we swim towards the Light of Spirit, surrounded by the blessings and mysteries of nature.
Angel of Remembrance
For some, angels need to be represented as gentle, pleasing and benevolent. My one experience was the inspiration for this picture. My angel was neutral, a messenger with a task. Her gaze was steady and insistent. She compelled me to re-visit some actions I had taken, purely selfish and adolescent… the experiences were deeply felt, from both sides, mine and the person I hurt. It was a small purgatory of pain, terrifically unpleasant, transfixing me with a holy fire that revealed all… The lesson absorbed, the blessing given, the path a bit clearer ever since.
Snorkeling in Hawaii one day, I dove down to accompany this turtle, this UFO in the blue sea. Not just a spaceship, but a living one with big dark gazing eyes… Taking a deep breath above, I dove again and again. On one of my visits, within touching distance, I stared into her eye and time stopped… melted into perfect samadhi, into union with the divine.
An early painting, inspired by the Mystery Teachings of reincarnation and evolution of the soul-inspired psyche. Seven stages of unfolding on the Path, seven chakras that shine and guide us, in their progression. Some attempt was made to create figures that are expressive of both male and female, to show how our souls inhabit both, over the long course of growth.
I can still see the original vision, much more expansive than this painting… the cosmos stretching to fill my view, and placed all around and into the distance are these beings, transfixed on their beams of light. Each is in bliss, spinning slowly in a cocoon of light, each is a star, personified. Behind her shines the Pleiades Cluster, also known as the Seven Sisters, of which she is one.
This early painting is about the nature of our existence, of duality in every layer of life. The ancient phrase “As above, so below” is a profound truth that resonates in my psyche… The picture is also about love, two hearts in union and joy, electrified by each other.
This was originally a vision held by a brother in Light, who commissioned the painting. He said the White Stag represented the Return of the Christ in the hearts of humanity, which I love! In the distance glows a Flower of Life, an ancient symbol of Mystery and Union. The night-time forest is deep and nurturing. The ruined church symbolizes the crumbling of the old order as a vital new expression comes forth…
Butterflies inspire on so many levels, their delights so easy to absorb… Studying their colors in photographs gives just one layer of information. The challenge is to express their flutter, their effortless freedom. Each one holds a silent promise of transformation, a teaching that life is brief, that joy is ours!
