This is the Marine Sanctuary Exploration Center right by the Santa Cruz Wharf. It features high tech interactive displays… and my mural.
The humpback whale is on the way up the stairs. The thresher shark and anchovy school are a little further up the wall.
This mural took some creative use of ladders on stairs, just a little scary! The wall is thirty feet tall, getting to the top corners gave me a few grey hairs.
I painted the underwater canyon with depth markers on the elevator column as well as the leatherback turtle mounted on the wall, which was molded from an actual turtle,
